Megan Stevens

Artist. Metalsmith. Educator.

Megan Stevens (she/her/hers) is an interdisciplinary artist from Nederland, Colorado.  She is currently working on her BFA in Art Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver.  Her artistic practice, inspired by environmental awareness, includes metalsmithing and mixed media as well as paint and small-scale three-dimensional works.  Megan invokes concepts of sustainability and waste as a major influence in her artwork. She uses contemporary observances of recycling and upcycling, as well as found objects through the lens of environmental awareness to inform her viewers of mass consumption and waste.

Megan has participated in numerous Denver gallery exhibits and art functions in pursuit of her BFA and teaching certification in Colorado.  With a projected graduation date in 2020, Stevens intends to enrich the lives of her students in the appreciation of contemporary and historical art, encouraging critical thinking through creative and artistic expression.
